Swim Team Rules

Eligibility

  • Only members in good standing of Cedarmill who have fully paid all dues, including all team dues, will be allowed to participate on the Cedarmill Swim Team.

  • To participate in the swim meets, swimmers age 10 and under must be able to swim one continuous length of the pool.  Swimmers age 11 and over must be able to swim two continuous lengths of the pool.

  • Cut-off date to determine a swimmer's age group is May 30.

    • For example, if a swimmer’s 11th birthday is May 30 he or she would be in the 11 and over age group.  If a swimmer’s 11th birthday is May 31, he or she would be in the 10 and under group.

  • To be eligible to participate in a dual meet, a swimmer must have completed at least 3 practice sessions during the week prior to the meet unless the swimmer is participating in practice with year round teams.

  • To be eligible to participate in the Conference Championship meet, a swimmer must have competed in at least 3 dual meets during the summer season.

Practice Conduct

  • Swimmers should be on time for practice.

  • Swimmers should be quiet at all times. Foul language, fighting, “talking back”, and any other behavior that disrupts practice will not be tolerated.  Such conduct steals the Coaches’ time from the team.

  • For scheduling purposes:  swimmers who will be taking a vacation or otherwise unable to attend practices and meets are requested to send a note to the coach.

Meet Conduct

  • It is the responsibility of the parent of the swimmer to provide transportation to and from meets.  It is also the responsibility of the parents to see that their swimmer arrives at the appointed time for warm-ups.

  • Swimmers must remain in the team area at meets; bull pen workers will not search for swimmers.

  • Swimmers should not leave before the meet has ended.  It is the responsibility of each team member and parents to help clean the pool area after the meets.

 Discipline Policy

  • 1st Disruption:  The child will be warned and the incident will be recorded

  • 2nd Disruption:  The child will sit out during the remainder of practice

  • 3rd Disruption: The child will be sent home and a Coach will contact the parents

  • 4th Disruption:  The child will again be sent home and will be suspended from the next meet

  • Continued Disruption:  The Child will be suspended from the Team for duration to be determined at the discretion of the Coaching Staff.  Fees are non-refundable upon suspension.
